Part 2



Applies to cars with three rows of seats without an integrated carrier bag holder







- Fold up the center rear floor hatch (1) at the rear edge and lift it out.
- Remove the right and left side glove box (1).







- Remove the folding side panel from the left and right-hand sides in the cargo compartment.







- Remove the two screws and the nut from the holder for the battery cover and lift out.
- Remove the battery cover.
- Turn the ignition key to position 0.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
- Disconnect the battery positive lead.







NOTE: Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.







- Remove the screw and floor mount for the battery.
- Remove the battery's drainage and place to one side.







- Remove the cover in the fuse holder for the main fuses.







- Disconnect the connectors for the towbar wiring in the space under the right-hand tail lamp.

Installation

Applies to the XC90







- Take the adapter wiring from the kit. Route the long cable from the space where the towbar wiring is connected and up to the holder for the main fuses.










- Take a fuse, two nuts and two washers from the kit. Install the fuse in any free terminal.
- Connect the cable with the small ring cable terminal.
- Install washers and nuts. Torque tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (7.5 lbf.ft.).







- Secure the cable to the holder for the main fuses using cable ties from the kit.
- Route the excess cable in the space under the tail lamp.
- Make sure that the wiring does not chafe against sharp edges.







- Connect the adapter cable's gray male and female connector (1) to the corresponding connectors (2) for the towbar wiring.







- Secure the relay holder with relay and fuse holder with fuse around the existing cable harness.







- Secure the four gray connected connectors around the existing cable harnesses using their relevant cable ties from the kit.







- Reinstall the battery.
- Install the mounting with the screw. Torque tighten to 24 Nm (18 lbf.ft.).
- Connect the battery's drainage hose.










- Remove the 20A fuse in the rear fuse holder in terminal 15. Replace it with the 5A fuse from the kit.
















- Reinstall the battery cover with holder, screws and nuts.
- Tighten screws and nuts to 24 Nm (18 lbf.ft).
