INTRODUCTION
- NOTE! Read through the whole installation instruction before starting the work.
- The front page gives the date of this edition and the edition it replaces
- The second page shows the tools needed for the installation and the contents of the installation kit
- The illustrations display the procedure in order of operation. The order of operation is repeated in the text section
- Cut out the text page in order to follow the illustrations and text at the same time.






Bluetooth

Note! These installation instructions apply to left-hand drive vehicles. When installing in a right-hand drive vehicle, the procedure is carried out on the opposite side and/or mirrored. Where the operations differ, right-hand versions are also displayed with text and images.There may be components in the accessories kit that are not used for this installation.

Note! When installing Velcro fasteners/tape the underlying surface must be kept at a temperature of at least +20° C (68°F).Place the manual for this accessory in a suitable place in the vehicle.




- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.

Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.




- Use a plastic weatherstrip tool and detach the gear selector cover panel with boot by carefully prying it off at the rear edge until the clips release. Pull the panel upwards until the four clips at the sides have released.




- Remove the panel around the gear selector. It is held in place with four catches.




- Turn the ignition key to position II.
- Engage the handbrake and move the gear selector lever towards the rear.
- Remove the two screws holding the bracket with the radio and dashboard environment panel in the centre console.




- Remove the bracket with dashboard environment panel and the radio from the centre console: Pull the lower edge out and downwards until it releases from the mounting at the upper edge. Then fold backwards.

Note! Do not damage the removed components or the surrounding panels.

- Remove the connectors.
- If the 12 pin gray terminal on the radio is not connected, the vehicle is equipped with an external amplifier. This information is used later in step 44.




- Remove the panel on the end of the dashboard.




- Turn the clip (1) a quarter turn anti-clockwise.
- Pull the panel out by the rear edge.
- Then pull the panel backwards until the hooks release.
- Remove the panel.




- Remove the screws and sound proofing bracket.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Open the glovebox.
- Lift the two hooks on each side past the lugs.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Unhook the damping.





Applies to the S60 and V70
1. Remove:
- the eight screws.
- the connector for the glove box lighting.
- the connector for the foot well lighting.
- the glove box.





Applies to the S80
- Open the glovebox
- Lift the two hooks on each side past the lugs.
- Detach the gas struts by pulling straight out.





Applies to the S80
1. Remove:
- the ten screws.
- the connector for the glove box lighting.
- the glove box.




- Remove the weatherstrip (1) for the door at the A-pillar.
- Pull off the panel.
- Cut off the safety clip (2).
- Lift the panel up and inwards in the vehicle.

Note! Ensure that the guide lugs on the panel do not scratch the dashboard.

- Turn the safety clip a quarter turn. Remove the safety clip.




- Fold down the cover (1) by pulling the front edge of the cover downwards.
- Squeeze the catches (2) together. Pull down the front edge of the panel and then pull it off by its rear edge.




- Remove the screws (1).
- Press in the catches (2).
- Carefully pull off the interior lights and allow them to hang from their cables.




- Tape a 700 mm length piece of foam tape on the microphone cable starting 60 mm from the microphone.




- Route the cable to the microphone by the black connector.




- Carefully pull down the headlining and route the cable above it, to the A-pillar.




- Reinstall the ceiling panel and at the same time adjust the length of the cable.
- Clean the microphone and the headlining in the area illustrated, which corresponds to the size of the double-sided adhesive tape. Use a solution of 25% isoproanol and 75% water, as well as a lint free cloth.
Dry with care, do not rub.
- Allow to dry.

Note! In cases where the area is heavily soiled or treated with cockpit shine. First clean using a washing up detergent (FAIRY or similar).

- Remove the backing tape from one side of the Velcro strip and press it onto the microphone.




- Remove the remaining protective film from the Velcro strip. Press the microphone securely into place.

Note! Direct the microphone towards the driver. Make sure that it does not obstruct adjustment of the rear view mirror and insert the excess cable under the panel.




- Pull the cable down along the A-pillar to the dashboard.
- Cut off 2 x 100x50mm pieces of foam tape in the middle.
- Secure the cable to the A-pillar using foam tape.

Caution! The inflatable curtain (IC) is located inside the A-pillar panel, it is important that the cable is not positioned on it.




- Route the cable along the lower side of the dashboard, to the center console.
- Install a new safety clip on the A-pillar panel.

Note! It is important that a new safety clip is used when installing the A-pillar panel.

- Press the A-pillar panel into place.
- Reinstall the weatherstrip in the door opening.

Note! It is important that the safety clip/hook and panel are correctly installed so that the SRS system is not affected.




- Cut off a 100x50mm piece of foam tape in the middle.
- Secure the cable on the heater unit using the pieces of tape.




- Lock the steering wheel in the lowest, rearmost position.
- Remove the rubber seal from the upper steering column cover by carefully prying off the hooks.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Remove the combined instrument panel surround by carefully prying the lower edge so that the two clips release.
- Then pull the surround back until the three clips at the top edge release.

Note! Do not damage the dashboard.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Remove the 4 x screws.
- Pull out the combined instrument panel without disconnecting the connector.
- Place the combined instrument panel to the left-hand side.





Only applies to Right-hand vehicles
- Place the control panel cable in the groove as illustrated.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Take a 700 mm piece of foam tape and cut off 20 mm.
- Tape the long piece of foam tape on the cable, starting 50 mm from the control panel.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Clean the area on the dashboard as illustrated, which corresponds to the size of the double-sided adhesive tape. Use a solution of 25% isoproanol and 75% water, as well as a lint free cloth.
Dry with care, do not rub.
- Allow to dry.

Note! In cases where the area is heavily soiled or treated with cockpit shine. First clean using a washing up detergent (FAIRY or similar).





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Remove the protective film from the tape on the reverse of the control panel.
- Align the control panel with the surround. The lower edge of the tape must be at the upper edge of the beveled section of the surround.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- The cable must be in-between the clip and the control on the surround.
- Press the control panel on the surround.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- File a cut-out for the cable in the surround.
- Fold the cable to one side to prevent damage.

- Fold in and secure the cable on the reverse of the surround using the cut piece of tape (20 mm).





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Route the cable through the opening and pull it to the right of the center console.
- Reinstall the combined instrument panel. The cable must be above the combined instrument panel.





Applies to the S60 and V70
- Reinstall the surround and rubber seal.





Applies to the S80
- Make markings for the cable cut-out in the panel.
- Remove the cover panel (1) using a small screwdriver and the screws (2).
- Remove the panel by angling the upper edge outwards and pulling out.
- File the cut-out according to the markings.





Only applies to Right-hand vehicles
- Place the control panel cable in the groove as illustrated.





Applies to the S80
- Tape a 700 mm long piece of foam tape on the cable, starting 70 mm from the control panel.





Applies to the S80
- Route the cable in under the combined instrument panel and along to the center console.




- Clean the area on the dashboard as illustrated, which corresponds to the size of the double-sided adhesive tape. Use a solution of 25% isoproanol and 75% water, as well as a lint free cloth.
Dry with care, do not rub.
- Allow to dry.

Note! In cases where the area is heavily soiled or treated with cockpit shine. First clean using a washing up detergent (FAIRY or similar).





Applies to the S80
- Reinstall the surround, cover and feed in the cable through the cut-out.




- Remove the protective film from the tape on the reverse of the control panel.
- Align and press the control panel on the dashboard.




- Connect the adapter cable's green and gray connector (1) to the vehicle's cable harness (2).
- Take a 700 mm piece of foam tape and cut into three pieces of the same length. Tape one piece around connector (1) and (2).
- Connector (3) is later connected to the stereo. Place the connected gray connector up to the left

Applies to cars with extra amplifier
- Take the gray connector located up to the left in the center console.
- Remove the foam tape.
- Disconnect the connectors and connect the 2 x gray adapter cable connectors.
- Reinstall the foam tape.




- Cut the protective casing for the cable harness with antenna cable, approximately 120 mm.
- Position the connected gray connector up to the left and the connected green connector at the bottom by the middle so that they are not obstructive when installing the radio.




- Connect the cables to the mute relay.
- Tape a thick piece of foam tape around the mute relay and the connectors.




- Take a large tie strap from the kit and secure the mute relay to the bracket for the A/C unit.




- Connect the cable harness to the control module (1).
- Lock the catches (2).




- Tape two thick pieces of foam tape to the control module.




- Place the control module between the A/C unit and the floor.
- Pull up the cable harness to the centre console.




- Connect the connectors, see:

- Take one of the cut pieces of foam tape and wrap around the connectors.
- Take a large tie strap from the kit and secure the connectors and excess wiring to the inside of the center console.





Reinstall:
- radio and A/C panel.
- panel for the gear selector.
- the dashboard end panel.
- glove box.
- sound proofing.
- the side panel for the center console.
- Turn the ignition key to position II.
- Reconnect the battery negative lead
