Checking components and wiring

Note! The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be stored if the incorrect roof spoiler is installed. Do not replace the roof spoiler if the stop lamp is working.

Check the rear electronic module (REM) and the high-mounted stop lamp connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for loose connections. Check for damage carefully.

Hint: When the stop lamp is activated, the voltage between #1 and #5 in the connector for the stop lamp must be battery voltage.

Check the power supply cable between rear electronic module (REM) terminal #4D (#B04) and brake light connector terminal #1. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check the ground lead between brake light connector terminal #5 and the ground terminal. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Try a new brake light if no faults were found.
Remedy as necessary.
