Loudspeaker Head Restraint, Replacing

Preparatory work

Remove:







- the seat from the car.
- the tie straps for the cable harness on the seat frame
- the connector
- the backrest upholstery.
- the head restraint upholstery.

Removing the loudspeaker in the head restraint

Remove:







- the tape holding the cable harness
- the loudspeaker.

HINT: The loudspeaker is either secured using cushioned tape against the magnet or using a bonded loudspeaker cage.

Installing the loudspeaker in the head restraint
Install the loudspeaker with the loudspeaker cage in the cutout in the foam rubber. Use hot adhesive.

CAUTION:
- Ensure that the loudspeaker cable is not trapped.
- Ensure that no adhesive spills onto the loudspeaker cone.

Tape the cable harness.

Finishing
Install the upholstery for the head restraint.

Insert the cable harness through the hole for the head restraint in the backrest upholstery.

Position the upholstery on the backrest and install the head restraint.

Tape the cable harness to the foam body of the backrest.

Install:
- the backrest upholstery.
- the tie straps for the cable harness on the seat frame
- the connector.
