SRS DTCs for Side and Front Impact Sensor Communication

DESCRIPTION:

In some SRS control modules, an internal interface component has been found to be sensitive to high temperature. This may result in intermittent DTCs for communication with the SRS system's side impact sensors (P/N 9206975) or front impact sensors (P/N 8651200 and 8651201). Therefore, special care needs to be taken when servicing cars with side or front impact sensor communication DTCs, e.g. SRS 00B0, SRS 00B9, SRS 00C2, SRS 00CB, SRS 00D4 or SRS 00DD.

Note:
The SRS warning lamp will illuminate if any of the DTCs are present.

SERVICE.

^ Clear the DTC, start the car and wait 10 s for the SRS self test to complete.

^ If the DTC returns: Repair fault or replace component as indicated by DTC.

^ If the DTC does not return: Replace SRS control module (P/N 8697679). Please return replaced parts to TMA in Rockleigh according to normal routine.
