DESCRIPTION:
540/V40 cars with Gasoline engine (EM52000 ECM) may have the Immobilizer warning lamp on after a (successful) cold start. After a restart, or after switching ignition off and on, the warning lamp is off. As long as the warning lamp is on (engine still running), IMMO-DTC 321 is stored. This DTC indicates a communication problem between IMMO-ECU and ECM. If the warning lamp is off, the IMMO-DTC is self erased, and no IMMO-DTC is stored anymore. Also, the ECM does not have a DTC stored. This problem is caused by an intermittent interruption in the IG1 contact of the starter switch.
PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
Improving the starter switch was not feasible anymore. Therefore an easy to install.
Service solution has been made available.
