Condition







The transmission has an integrated function which when stationary, with the engine idling, the brake pedal depressed and gears D, 4, 3 or L engaged, disengages the drive section of the transmission. The function decreases fuel consumption and vibration from the transmission when running the engine at idle speed.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-012C is stored if the control module registers that the engine is juddering or running unevenly when engaging clutch C1.

Substitute value
- The transmission control module (TCM) "Emergency mode I" program has been initiated.

Possible source
- Solenoid SLS jammed in the ON position
- Internal fault in the transmission
- Internal fault in the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- The warning lamp for the automatic transmission flashes
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- The engine speed (RPM) oscillates
- No lock-up function.
