Checking The Kickdown Switch (KD) And The Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Signal







- Ignition on.
- Go into scrolling values.
- Read off the positions of the throttle position (TP) sensor and the kickdown switch.

Depress the accelerator pedal (AP) to just before kickdown position. Check that the throttle position (TP) sensor reads approximately 100% open throttle.

NOTE: The kickdown switch should not be activated during the test, it should read OFF.

Is the value OK?

YES: Continue with Next Procedure. Refer To Intermittent Fault.
NO: Refer To Checking The Accelerator Pedal (AP), Throttle Cable And Throttle. Checking the Accelerator Pedal (AP), Throttle Cable and Throttle
