Condition







The transmission control module (TCM) uses the kickdown switch (KD) signal to control functions such as downshifting during rapid acceleration. The kickdown switch (KD) closes when the outer sleeve of the accelerator cable is pressed against the switch (when the accelerator pedal (AP) is fully depressed).

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-OO1C is stored if the control module registers that there is a short-circuit to ground in the circuit for the kickdown switch (KD) when the throttle opening is less than approximately 85%.

Substitute value
- No substitute values.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable.
- Defective kickdown switch (KD).
- Faulty signal from the throttle position (TP) sensor.

Fault symptom[s]
- No kickdown function.
- The warning lamp for the automatic transmission flashes.
