Condition




The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the voltage from the system relay exceeds 16.5 V (Signal too high), is below 9 V (Signal too low) or is below 2.5 V (Faulty signal).
The fault is diagnosed by the engine control module (ECM) when the engine is running.

Substitute value
13.4 V at faulty signal.

Possible source

Signal too high
- Faulty charging system.

Signal too low
- Faulty charging system
- Poor battery
- Contact resistance in the terminals.

Faulty signal
- Damaged system relay
- Open-circuit in the power cable from the system relay
- Short-circuit to ground in the power supply cable from the system relay.

Fault symptom[s]
- The engine cuts out
- The engine does not start.
