Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-3410
Condition
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the signal for the front knock sensor (KS) is too high or too low.
The diagnostic is active when the engine speed is above 3000 rpm and the engine coolant temperature is above 40 °C.
Substitute value
- Safety retardation of ignition advance
- Reduced boost pressure.
Possible source
Signal too high
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Engine knocking as a consequence of mechanical faults in the engine.
Signal too low
- Open-circuit in the signal cable
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Damaged knock sensor (KS)
- Short-circuit between the knock sensor (KS) signal cables.
Fault symptom[s]
- Driving/Poor performance/lacks power
