Information
- Check diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM).

Note! Ensure there are no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) before carrying out this fault-tracing. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for faults in the rear doors are also stored in the control modules for the front doors.

Continue - Function test

-------------------------------------------------

Function test

- Ignition on
- Activate the child-proof lock function.
The function is activated using the switch on the control panel on the driver's door.
The lock motors for the child-proof locks in the rear doors must be activated. When the function is activated, the rear doors cannot be opened from inside and the rear power windows cannot be operated from the controls in the rear doors.

Is the function correct?

Yes - Fault-tracing information

No - Checking the wiring

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the wiring

- Ignition off.

Hint: For information about the connectors, fuses and wiring, see the wiring diagram for the relevant car model.

Check that the fuse for the right-hand rear door module (RDM) in the central electronic module (CEM) is intact. If the fuse is blown, check the circuit after the fuse. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Then replace the fuse.
Check the connector on the lock unit in the right rear door. Check for damage, bent pins and oxidation.
Check the wiring between the right rear door module (RDM) and the lock unit. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Also check that no mechanical components in the door are preventing the lock motor from operating.
Remedy the cables as necessary.

Other information
- To access the right rear door module (RDM) and the lock unit, see: Door latch, rear door Door Latch, Rear Door

Continue - Verification

-------------------------------------------------

Fault-tracing information
