No Locking
No locking
Information
- Check diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM).
Note! Ensure there are no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) before carrying out this fault-tracing. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for faults in the rear doors are also stored in the control modules for the front doors.
Continue - Function test
-------------------------------------------------
Function test
- Ignition on
- Activate the child-proof lock function.
The function is activated using the switch on the control panel on the driver's door.
The lock motors for the child-proof locks in the rear doors must be activated. When the function is activated, the rear doors cannot be opened from inside and the rear power windows cannot be operated from the controls in the rear doors.
Is the function correct?
Yes - Fault-tracing information
No - Checking the wiring
-------------------------------------------------
Checking the wiring
- Ignition off.
Hint: For information about the connectors, fuses and wiring, see the wiring diagram for the relevant car model.
Check that the fuse for the left-hand rear door module (LDM) in the central electronic module (CEM) is intact. If the fuse is blown, check the circuit after the fuse. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Then replace the fuse.
Check the connector on the lock unit in the left rear door. Check for damage, bent pins and oxidation.
Check the wiring between the left rear door module (LDM) and the lock unit. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Also check that no mechanical components in the door are preventing the lock motor from operating.
Remedy the cables as necessary.
Other information

Was a fault detected?
Yes - Verification
No - Replacing the lock unit
-------------------------------------------------
Replacing the lock unit
- Ignition off.
If the lock motor for the child-proof lock does not function as intended and no other fault has been found, the fault is probably internal. The lock motor must be replaced.

Continue - Verification
-------------------------------------------------
Fault-tracing information
If no fault is discovered, this indicates that a fault has previously been registered, but that the fault is no longer present. The fault is intermittent. No further fault-tracing is required.

- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
Activate the child-proof lock function.
It must not be possible to open the rear doors using the inner handles. It must not be possible to operate the rear power windows from the panels in the rear doors.

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
