Note! Only applies to four wheel drive cars with traction control (TRACS).

The brake control module (BCM) compares the signals from the stop lamp switch and the pedal position sensor with each other in order to detect a faulty signal. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers an implausible signal from the stop lamp switch or the pedal position sensor.

Substitute value
- Traction Control on the rear wheels is blocked. Control on the front wheels is still available.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the signal cable for the stop lamp switch
- The stop lamp switch is not working
- The pedal position sensor is not working.
