Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-6120 is stored if the engine control module (ECM) registers a fault in the signal cable from the engine cooling fan (FC) relay.

Signal too high:
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Defective engine cooling fan (FC) relay.

Signal too low:
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- Short-circuit to ground in the power supply cable
- Defective engine cooling fan (FC) relay.

Signal missing:
- Open-circuit in the signal cable
- Defective engine cooling fan (FC) relay.

Fault symptom[s]
- The engine cooling fan (FC) runs continuously even when the ignition is switched off.
