Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-4030 is stored if the control module registers a fault in the control signal cable to the leak diagnostic heat element (PTC-resistor). The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is diagnosed when the engine is running and the control module activates/deactivates the heat element for the leak diagnostic.

Signal too high:
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Defective leak diagnostic unit.

Signal too low:
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- Defective leak diagnostic unit.

Signal missing:
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals
- Open-circuit in the signal cable
- Open-circuit in the power supply to the leak diagnostic unit
- Defective leak diagnostic unit.
