Faulty signal
Checking components and wiring
Check that the bulb in the cargo compartment lighting is intact.
Check the connectors on the rear electronic module (REM) and cargo compartment lighting. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for loose connections.
Hint: The voltage between terminals #2 and #4 in the connector for the cargo compartment lighting must be approximately battery voltage when the trunk lid is open.
Check the cable between rear electronic module (REM) connector terminal #2E (#B22) and cargo compartment lighting terminal #2. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check the cable between cargo compartment lighting terminal #4 and ground. Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Remedy as necessary.

- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Check that the cargo compartment lighting lights when the trunk lid is opened.
Does the cargo compartment lighting light?
