Signal Too Low. Permanent Fault
Signal too low. Permanent fault
Checking wiring and connectors
Check the resistance of the fuel level sensor (left-hand side). The resistance across each sensor may vary between 12 ohms (full fuel tank) and 383 ohms (empty fuel tank).
Hint: The resistance of the fuel level sensor (left-hand side) can be measured between fuel level sensor connector terminals #5 and #6.
Check the cables between fuel level sensor connector terminal #5 and breakout box terminal #A02 (#A2). Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the ground lead between breakout box terminal #A10 (#A10) and fuel level sensor connector terminal #6. Check for an open-circuit.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After the repair it is necessary to check that the fault has been rectified.
- Ignition off.
- Install the components, connect the connectors, etc.
- Make sure there are more than two liters of fuel in the left tank half.
- Ignition on.
Read the fuel level in the left tank half.
