Internal Fault

Internal fault

Checking control modules on the MOST network
The phone module (PHM) has registered a fault in the communication on the MOST network. This is either due to a fault in the MOST transceiver for the phone module (PHM) or because of interrupted communication on the MOST network.
Start the fault-tracing by checking whether other control modules on the MOST network function by listening to the radio or a CD / MiniDisc.

Are the other control modules on the MOST network working?

Yes - Replacing the component

No - Fault-tracing MOST

-------------------------------------------------

Replacing the component
If the other control modules on the MOST network are working normally, there is probably an internal fault in the phone module (PHM).
If the fault is intermittent, it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults can be caused by interference at start up of the phone module (PHM) or may be a different type of fault which occurs on different occasions. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs. If the fault recurs, replace the control module.
In the event of a permanent fault, replace the control module.
Remedy as necessary.

Attempt New Test - Checking control modules on the MOST network

-------------------------------------------------

Fault-tracing MOST
If other control modules on the MOST network are not working, MOST communication is not possible. The fault may be an open-circuit on the MOST cable or because a control module is not working. The phone module (PHM) can only diagnose that it is unable to communicate on the MOST network, but not where the fault is. Continue the fault-tracing therefore by reading off diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the infotainment control module (ICM) and then following the relevant fault-tracing procedures.
