Checking the input
Read status of lamp.
When handbrake is on status should be "ON", and when handbrake is released status should be "OFF".

Yes - No Fault Found

No - Checking the wire and handbrake contact

Check and measure handbrake switch function.

Hint: Handbrake pin 1 is only grounded when handbrake is on (lamp on).

Check and measure wire between combined instrument 6 and handbrake contact 1 for a short circuit to ground as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
