Checking the warning beep

Checking the cable




- Check control module connector A. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Ignition off.
Connect an ohmmeter between control module connector A4 and ground.
Test for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect an ohmmeter between control module connector A4 and warning buzzer terminal pin 3.
Test for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

Was the fault found?

Yes - Verification

- Check the buzzer terminal pin. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between buzzer terminals 1 and 2.
Check that the voltage is approximately 12 V (battery voltage).
Replace the warning buzzer if the voltage is correct.
The fault is in the warning buzzer if the correct voltage level is displayed. Replace the buzzer.
Remedy as necessary.

Select Continue when the fault has been remedied.

Note! After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall components, reconnect connectors etc.
- Speed < 4 km/h
- Trunk lid closed
- Ignition on.
Operate the convertible top to run to both of its limit positions.

Does the buzzer sound?

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED

The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
