TCM-012C Neutral Check, No Neutral Check





Condition
The driving section of the transmission is disengaged when certain conditions are met:
- Stationary
- Engine idling
- Stop pedal depressed
- Gear position D, 3 or 4.

The function decreases fuel consumption and vibration from the transmission when running the engine at idle speed. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) TCM-012C is stored if the Transmission Control Module (TCM) registers that the engine is juddering or running unevenly when engaging clutch C1.

Substitute value
- The Transmission Control Module (TCM) "Emergency mode 1" program has been initiated.

Possible source
- Solenoid SLS jammed in the ON position
- Internal fault in the transmission
- Internal fault in the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- General orange warning lamp lit
- The engine speed (RPM) oscillates
- No lock-up function
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) lit.
