TCM-002F

TCM-002F Lock-up Function, Slipping or not engaged

Condition
The automatic gearbox checks whether lock-up solenoid is disconnected or slipping by comparing speed signal from the gearbox speed sensor with gearbox rotational speed. The signals should then "show" the same calculated speed. The control unit also compares gearbox speed signal and engine rotation speed. The speed should then be greater or less than gearbox speed depending on what gear is selected. If the control unit detects that speed and rotation speed signals do not match set values, it means that lockup solenoid SLU is slipping or disconnected, and diagnostic trouble code TCM-002F is displayed.

Substitute value
- Control unit help program "Emergency mode 1" has started to work.

Possible source
- Contact resistance in the connectors.
- Gear shift solenoid S4 is jammed in OFF position.
- Gear shift solenoid SLU is jammed in OFF position.
- Mechanical fault in the gearbox.

Fault symptom[s]
- Orange general warning lamp is on.
- Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is on.
- No lock up function.
- Rough near shifts.
