Checking The Power Supply And Ground Terminals For The Throttle Unit
Checking the power supply
- Check the fuse for power supply to the electronic throttle unit. If the fuse is blown, check the circuit after the fuse. Check for a short-circuit to ground
- Check power supply to throttle unit #6. Voltage should be approximately battery voltage.
Checking the ground terminal
- Check the ground lead between throttle unit terminal #5 and engine ground terminal ETM 31/91. Check for an open-circuit
- Check the ground terminal for the throttle unit.
Check for contact resistance and oxidation.
Remedy as necessary

- Ground terminal electronic throttle module (ETM) 31/91 for the throttle unit is located on the front of the cylinder block above the starter motor
