Reading Off the Programmed Values

Read-out of programmed values in driver information module (DIM)

Selecting the instrument type
Select the appropriate alternative depending on whether the instrument is set for kilometers or miles. If the speedometer range is from 0-260 it is a kilometer instrument and if the range is from 0 -160 it is a miles instrument.
1. Km
2. Miles

Select desired alternative above.

Reading off the programmed values in the combined instrument panel

Checking the programmed values (km)

- Ignition on.
When downloading software or replacing the combined instrument panel it is important to read off the customer's settings. This is so that the same data can be programmed into the new combined instrument panel.
The service reminder indicator (SRI) lights when one of the parameters for distance, time or engine running time conditions is filled.

Caution! When replacing the combined instrument panel, the current distance, time and engine run time data cannot be programmed. Therefore a decision must be made whether the car should be serviced or not Compare different parameters with each other to determine how long or how far remains to the next service.

The mileage since the last service is the difference between the value TOTAL MILEAGE and the value MILEAGE AT LAST SERVICE. If the car will reach the MILEAGE REQUIREMENT FOR SERVICE shortly the car should be serviced.
The time since the last service is the difference between the value GLOBAL TIME and the value TIME AT LAST SERVICE. Global time should be a greater value. If the car will reach the TIME REQUIREMENT FOR SERVICE shortly the car should be serviced.
ENGINE TIME SINCE SERVICE is compared directly with ENGINE TIME REQUIREMENT FOR SERVICE.
Read off and note the values of the customer parameters in the combined instrument panel control module.

Note! After downloading software it is important that the customer parameters are re-entered. These parameters will have been overwritten during the software download.

For information about the different parameters, see and
To replace the control module, see Driver Information Module (DIM), Replacing

Has the control module been replaced?

Yes - Resetting the Service reminder indicator (SRI)

No - Reading off standard parameter settings

------------------------

Resetting the Service reminder indicator (SRI)

- Ignition on.
When replacing the control module the service reminder indicator (SRI) should be reset using the smart tool. This is so that the service reminder indicator (SRI) will light when the service interval is reached.

Caution! After resetting the service data the control module begins calculating the mileage and time from the beginning. This is why it is necessary to determine whether a service should be carried out or not.

Continue - Reading off standard parameter settings

------------------------

Reading off standard parameter settings

- Ignition on.
Read off the customer setting after replacing the control module / downloading. Compare the setting with the value before replacing the control module. If the read outs are different the value should be reprogrammed as outlined under programming.

Caution! After downloading the software the customer parameters may be changed if they have also been entered during programming. The customer parameters are market led, but a customer may have another setting.

For information about the different parameters, see and
