Checking Seat Heater






Checking seat heater

Checking fuses




- Ignition off.
Check that fuse 11C/8 (25A) is intact.
Replace the fuse if it is damaged.

Is the fuse intact?

Yes - Checking the ground lead

No - Checking the wiring

- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector from the seat heater module.
Check the cable between seat heater (9/12) for left seat and (9/13) for right seat connector terminal #5 and ground terminal 31/66 or 31/67. Check for an open-circuit.
Remedy as necessary.

Is the cable OK?

Yes - Checking the power supply

No - Fault Found

Checking the wiring




- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector from the seat heater module.
Check the cable between fuse 11C/8 terminal #2 (25A) and seat heater (9/12) for left seat and (9/13) for right seat connector terminal #1. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.

Is the cable OK?

Yes - Checking the cable

No - Fault Found

Checking the power supply




- Ignition off
- Disconnect connector from the seat heater module
- Ignition on.
Check the voltage between seat heater (9/12) for left seat and (9/13) for right seat connector terminal #1 and ground.

Is the voltage OK?

Yes - Checking the wiring

No - Repair cable

Repair cable




- Ignition off.
Repair the cable between fuse 11C/8 terminal #2 (25A) and seat heater (9/12) for left seat and (9/13) for right seat connector terminal #1. Check for a open-circuit.

Continue - Fault Found

Checking the cable
Check the cable between fuse 11C8 terminal #2 (25A) and seat heater (9/12) for left seat and (9/13) for right seat connector terminal #1. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.
Replace fuse.

Check the cable between fuse 11C8 terminal #2 (25A) and seat heater (9/12) for left seat and (9/13) for right seat connector terminal #1. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for an intermittent open-circuit.
Remedy as necessary.
