Installation kit single DIN radio
Preparation work
Applies to all models
- Position the right front seat to the centre position. Raise the seat to the highest position
- Position the left front seat in the rear position
- Turn the ignition key to position 0
- Cars with manual gearboxes: Remove the ignition key.
Note! Wait at least five minutes before disassembling the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.
Applies to the S60, V70 (00-) and the S80
- Remove the transportation protection from the centre console.
Applies to the S60 and V70 (00-)
- Move the gear selector lever as far back as possible
- Remove the panel in front of the gear selector lever. Carefully pry off the panel. Use a weatherstrip tool.
Applies to the S60 and V70 (00-)
- Remove the panel around the gear selector. Press in the catches at the front edge. Lift upwards, first at the front edge and then at the rear edge.

- Remove the two screws from the dashboard environment panel.
Applies to the S80
- Remove the panel (1) including the boot at the rear edge. Carefully pry off the panel. Use a weatherstrip tool.
Applies to the S80
- Shift the gear selector lever to the rearmost position. Twist the panel (1) and the boot to the left
- Remove the screws (2) from the dashboard environment panel.
Applies to all models
- Angle the dashboard environment panel outwards so that it is possible to insert a couple of fingers between the centre console and the side of the dashboard environment panel
- Remove the dashboard environment panel. Pull it downward, maintaining the same angle. Some force is required because the panel is tightly installed
- Disconnect the connectors on the reverse of the dashboard environment panel Place the panel to one side.
Applies to all models
- Remove the screws (1) in the radio bracket (2)
- Remove the radio bracket including the centre console locker. The radio bracket will not be reused.
Installation
Applies to all models
- Take out the new radio bracket
- Slide the radio bracket up so that the groove in the upper edge goes round the upper edge of the centre console. At the same time press the lower mounting for the radio bracket towards the lower edge of the centre console
- Tighten the radio bracket using the existing screws.

- Take out the new mounting bracket for the dashboard environment panel
- Turn the dashboard environment panel upside down
- Insert the mounting bracket leg in the holes on the lower side of the dashboard environment panel. Fold the bracket down so that the bracket is against the reverse of the dashboard environment panel
- Tighten the mounting bracket at the reverse of the dashboard environment panel. Use two new self-tapping screws (1).
Illustration B applies to the S80
- Take out the new mounting bracket for the dashboard environment panel
- Turn the dashboard environment panel upside down
- Install the mounting bracket on the reverse of the dashboard environment panel above the locating pin and the existing holes
- Tighten the mounting bracket at the dashboard environment panel. Use the two new screws (1).
Finishing work
Illustration A applies to the S60, and V70 (00-)
- Connect the connectors to the dashboard environment panel. Reinstall the panel
- Tighten the upper edge of the dashboard environment panel to the lower edge of the radio panel. Use two new M5-screws (1)
- Reinstall the surround around the gear selector lever
- Reinstall the panel in front of the gear selector lever.
Illustration B applies to the S80
- Connect the connectors to the dashboard environment panel. Reinstall the panel
- Press a new clip (1) through the hole in the lower edge of the radio bracket so that the bracket in the upper edge of the dashboard environment panel is secure
- Reinstall the panel around the gear selector lever.
Illustration A applies to the S60, and V70 (00-)
- Check that the wiring for the connectors for the radio are accessible
- Press the new centre console locker into the lower section of the radio bracket.
Illustration B applies to the S80
- Check that the wiring for the connectors for the radio are accessible
- Press the new partition (1) in the radio bracket.

- Press the new centre console locker into the lower section of the radio bracket.
Applies to all models
- Turn the ignition key to position II
- Reinstall the negative lead.
