When this trouble code is stored, it indicates that Engine control module (ECM) has failed to control the idle rpm. Normally there are also trouble codes related to the air and fuel system stored together with this trouble code. Any diagnostic trouble codes that are stored should be fault traced first. If the cause is found with this troubleshooting, you can ignore this trouble code.

Hint: Incorrectly adapted throttle module may cause this trouble code to be stored alone. Carry out adaptation of the throttle unit to update the adaptation values. This is done from DIAGNOSTICS/VEHICLE COMMUNICATION/Advanced.
