Signal too high

Checking and replacing the component




- Ignition off
- Replace the relay for heating the leak diagnostic pump
- Ignition on.
Activate the relay. The relay should click.
If the function is OK, the cause of the fault was a defective relay (short-circuit in the relay).

Was the function OK?

Yes - Fault Found

No - Checking the control module

- Ignition off
- Remove the relay
- Ignition on.
Check the relay coil driver circuit for a short-circuit to supply voltage by taking a voltmeter reading at terminal #2 in the relay base.

Hint: The voltage between terminal #2 and ground should be approximately 0 V.








Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on.
Activate and deactivate the relay. The relay must click.
