If the circuit voltage is high for more than 10 seconds, diagnostic trouble code SRS-0040 is displayed.

Substitute value

- Nothing.

Possible source

- Short circuit to voltage supply in igniter wire or connectors between the front left/right side air bags and the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit.
- Short circuit to voltage supply in the front right side air bag.

Fault symptom[s]

- SRS warning lamp on.
