SAS-0007: Steering Wheel Angle Signal 1X
Signal Too High, Permanent Fault
Signal Too High, Intermittant Fault

Condition

The steering wheel angle sensor has two circuits each with 4 LEDs and 4 receptors which read off their individual track on a perforated code disc. One circuit measures the steering wheel angle and the other measures steering wheel revolutions. If the control unit registers that the signal for any of the steering wheel angle signals A, B, IX, IY, R1, R2, R3 or R4 is too high, diagnostic trouble code SAS-0003, 0005, 0007, 0009, 0011, 0013, 0015 or 0017 is set, depending on the steering wheel angle signal.
