Condition







Control units communicate with each other over a network via a standardised serial method of communication - CAN (Controller Area Network) - and exchange information. Control units send and receive information. If control unit registers that communication is interrupted or has defaulted, the diagnostic trouble code is displayed.

NOTE: During a communication fault the control unit cannot communicate. Therefore the diagnostic trouble code is only given if the fault is intermittent.

Substitute value

- CAN communication blocked.

Possible source

- Defective control unit.

Fault symptom[s]

- Fuel gauge does not work.
- Boot lid will not open/lock.
- Filler cap will not open/lock.
