Condition

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) REM-4A42 is stored if the rear electronic module registers that the signal from the gas pressure sensor is too high.

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) REM-4A42 can be diagnosed when the ignition is on.

Substitute value

- The fuel level is set to zero.

Possible source

- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.
- Defective pressure sensor.

Fault symptom[s]

- The fuel level gauge does not function.
- The trip computer displays an empty fuel tank too early.
