Condition

If control unit registers that, with ignition on, A/D input is less than 0.4 V, the diagnostic trouble code is displayed.

Substitute value

- Fuel gauge is reset.

Possible source

- Fuel gauge sensor (right side) short circuited to ground.

Fault symptom[s]

- Trip computer indicates too soon that fuel tank is empty.
- Fuel gauge does not work.
