Condition

The control modules communicate with each other in a network via a standardized serial communication interface - Controller Area Network (CAN) - to exchange information. The control modules transmit and receive information. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that communication is missing or subject to interference.

NOTE: The control module responds to diagnostic data, however the CAN communication does not function.

Substitute value

- CAN communication blocked.

Possible source

- Faulty signal configuration in the control module.

Fault symptom[s]

- Cannot be controlled using the central locking switch.
