BCM-0109: Communications Between Control Modules, Control Unit For The Steering Angle Sensor (SAS), Internal Fault
Condition
Note! The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) applies only to cars with Dynamic stability and traction control (DSTC).
The control module for the steering angle sensor transmits a status signal to the Brake Control Module (BCM). Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) BCM-0109 is stored if the Brake Control Module (BCM) receives a message from the steering angle sensor indicating an internal fault.

- Traction control is blocked
- Stability control is blocked
- Active yaw control is blocked.

- Internal fault in the control module for the steering wheel angle sensor.
Fault symptom[s]
- The anti-spin warning lamp is lit (up to and including 2002 model year)
- General yellow warning lamp lit (from model year 2003 inclusive)
- Anti-spin does not function
- The stability control system does not function
- The traction control system does not function.
