Rear Knuckle: Service and Repair






Wheel knuckle rear

Removal

Note! Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the following items:
- spring. Refer to: Spring/shock absorber rear, replacing, M58, M66 AWD, AW50/51 AWD Spring/Shock Absorber Rear, Replacing
- brake shoes. Refer to: Handbrake, brake shoes, replacing Service and Repair
- wheel hub. Refer to: Rear wheel hub, replacing Rear Wheel Hub, Replacing




Torque: M6, 10 Nm




Torque: M12, 80 Nm




Torque: M8, 24 Nm

Installation

Note! Only tighten the nuts and screws when the suspension is in the normal drive position.

Position the car on a wheel track hoist.
Tighten the screws for the shock absorber and torque rod on both sides.Torque: M12, 80 Nm

Install the protective covers over the shock absorber mounting.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Check the rear wheel alignment. Refer to: Wheel alignment, checking / adjusting Service and Repair
