Central coaxial loudspeaker

Installation




- Carefully remove the loudspeaker grille (1) on the dashboard. Use a weatherstrip tool or similar.




- Remove the screws (1). Remove the bracket (2).




- Connect the loudspeaker (1) to the pre-routed connector (2) in the dashboard.
- If there is no pre-routed connector, proceed to relevant operation.




- Install the loudspeaker using the existing screws (1).
- Reinstall the loudspeaker grille.

installation (only applies to cars with RTI)




- Remove the loudspeaker grille (1).




- Remove the screws (1) from the RTI unit (2).




- Connect the pre-routed cable (1) to the loudspeaker.
- Install the screws (2) from the RTI unit and the screws (3) from the kit. Tighten the screws.
- Reinstall the loudspeaker grille.

installation (only applies to cars without a pre-routed cable for a centre loudspeaker)




- Remove the cover in front of the gear selector lever. Pry off the panel with a weatherstrip tool as illustrated.
- Shift the gear selector lever to the rearmost position.




- Remove the two screws from the dashboard environment panel.




- Angle the dashboard environment panel outwards so that it is possible to insert a couple of fingers between the centre console and the side of the dashboard environment panel.
- Remove the dashboard environment panel. Pull the panel downward, maintaining the same angle.
- Disconnect the connectors on the reverse of the dashboard environment panel.

Note! If any of the outer hooks break off, these must be repaired. See the section dealing with the dashboard in the service information.




- Remove the screws (1) from the radio bracket.
- Pull out the bracket with the radio. Pull the lower corner while pressing downwards.
- Disconnect the radio connectors. Remove the bracket with the radio.




- Slide up the new loudspeaker cable (1) into the radio tray (2).
- Route the cable between the air ducts (3) to the hole for the loudspeaker in the dashboard.




- Open the locks on the 12-pin green connector. First press the catches down. Pull out the orange lock as far as possible. Then carefully pry apart the orange connector so that the inner lock lug is released.
- Remove the orange lock.




- Connect the two loose cables (1) in the radio space to the 12-pin green connector (2) from the radio. Connect the grey (GR) cable to socket 11 and the grey/red (GR/R) cable to socket 10.
- Reinstall the orange lock on the connector. Press the lock into place.

Finishing work

- Install and connect the loudspeaker.
- Connect the connectors to the radio.
- Reinstall the bracket and the radio in the radio tray.
- Reinstall the screws on the bracket. Screw the radio into place.
- Connect the connectors to the dashboard environment panel.
- Reinstall the screws on the dashboard environment panel. Screw the panel into place.
- Reinstall the panel with boot.
