Power Window Switch: Service and Repair




Door panel switch, replacement

Removal of door panel







- Remove door panel, as shown in the figure.
- Remove 1 screw 7 clips from the bottom edge of the door.

NOTE: Remove the door panel only when replacing a switch in the filler hatch/boot lid.

Ignition off.

Replacing the front door switch

The switch may be replaced without removing the door panel.

Modify a spatula by rounding its corners and edges. This is done to minimise the risk of damage to the frame around the switch.

Position a 100 mm/4 in piece of electrical tape on the spatula to protect the gap between the switch and the frame.







Move the spatula down between the switch and its frame and carefully force out the switch.

It is important to use a wide contact surface on the tool to avoid damage to the frame around the switch.

Replace the switch.

Replacing the rear door switch

The switch may be replaced without removing the door panel.

Modify a spatula by rounding its corners and edges. This is done to minimise the risk of damage to the frame around the switch.

Position a 75 mm/3 in piece of electrical tape on the spatula to protect the gap between the switch and the frame.







Move the spatula down between the switch and its frame, as shown in the figure, and carefully force out the switch.

It is important to use a wide contact surface on the tool to avoid damage to the frame around the switch.

Replace the switch.

3) Filler hatch/Boot lid (front door only)
- Remove the door panel as described in Removal of door panel.
- Remove the switch from the panel.
- Remove the connector connected to the switch.
- Replace the switch.
