Signal too high. Intermittent fault

Checking the connectors and cables




- Ignition on
- Check control module connector A for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Connect a voltmeter between control module A2 and ground (Side windows down).
Check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Connect a voltmeter between control module A3 and ground (Trunk lid inhibitor).
Take voltage readings as above.
Connect a voltmeter between control module A4 and ground (Warning signal).
Take voltage readings as above.
Connect a voltmeter between control module A5 and ground (Rear demist).
Take voltage readings as above.
If a short-circuit to supply voltage is found, begin by checking the connector for the faulty component for an intermittent short-circuit to voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
If no short-circuit to supply voltage is found, the fault may be in the affected components, warning buzzer, rear demist, trunk lid inhibitor or window module.
Remedy as necessary.
