Side window, rear, replacing

Side windows, rear, removing
Detach the C-post panel. See Panel, C-post, replacing Panel, C-Post, Replacing.
Detach the D-post panel. See Panel, D-post, replacing Panel, D-Post, Replacing.
Cut out the window.

Note! Use soap solution. This will facilitate cutting.




Disconnect the connectors for:
- the radio antenna
- RTI (road traffic information)
- TV
- alarm.




(1) = PUR bead.
(2) = Windshield knife
(3) = Locating pin.
Cut along the marked edge.
Use a long blade against the C-post.
Otherwise use a short blade.
Be careful around the locating pin. Do not damage the paint work.
If the window is to be reused: Remove the PUR bead with a chisel.
When working with PUR on the body flange, see PUR on body flange .

Side windows, rear, installing

Note! Install the trim strip before positioning the window when replacing the rear side window.
Install:
- The trim strip for the V70. See Trim strip on the rear side window
- The trim strip for the V70XC. See Trim strip on the rear side window .

When working with PUR on the body flange, see PUR on body flange .
Clean the area on the window to which PUR adhesive is to be applied with cleaner-H (black cap).
Apply glass activator (yellow cap) to the area on the glass to which PUR adhesive will be applied.
Apply glass primer (green cap) to the area on the glass to which PUR adhesive will be applied.
Apply generously (although not so much that it runs).
Let the primer dry until the surface is matte.
Apply the PUR/RIM activator (blue cap) on the remaining PUR bead on the body flange.




Load the gun with both cartridges and the mixing pipe.
Apply adhesive to either the glass or to the body flange.
Press the window into place by hand.
Secure with tape.

Press the window into place by hand.
Secure with tape.
