Checking the Shift Lock






Checking the shift lock

Checking fuses




- Ignition off.
Check that fuse 11C/24 (10A) is intact.
Replace the fuse if it is damaged.

Is the fuse intact?

Yes - Checking the ground lead

No - Checking the cable

- Ignition off
- Remove connector from Shift Lock module 3/156.
Check the cable between Shift Lock connector terminal #6 and ground terminal 31/6. Check for an open-circuit.
Remedy as necessary.

Is the cable OK?

Yes - Checking the power supply

No - Fault Found

Checking the power supply




- Ignition off
- Remove relay 2/29 from the central electronic module (CEM) relay holder
- Ignition on.
Check the voltage between relay holder 2/29 terminal #3 and ground.

Is the voltage OK?

Yes - Checking the relay

No - Repair cable

Repair cable




- Ignition off
- Remove relay 2/29 from the central electronic module (CEM) relay holder.
Repair the cable between fuse 11C/24 terminal #2 (10A) and relay holder 2/29 terminal #3. Check for an open-circuit.

Checking the cable




- Ignition off
- Remove relay 2/29 from the central electronic module (CEM) relay holder.
Check the cable between fuse 11C/24 terminal #2 (10A) and relay holder 2/29 terminal #3. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.

Is the cable correct?

Yes - Checking the signal cable

No - Fault Found

Check that relay 2/29 is correctly installed.
Check the relay terminals.
Remedy as necessary.

Is the relay OK?

Yes - Checking the cable

No - Fault Found

- Ignition off.
Check the cable between relay holder 2/29 terminal #1 and Shift Lock connector terminal #1. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.

Check the cable between fuse 11C/24 terminal #2 (10A) and relay holder 2/29 terminal #3. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to ground.
Also check the cable between relay holder 2/29 terminal #1 and Shift Lock connector terminal #1. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Remedy as necessary.
