Bushing inner control arm lower, replace

Special tools:
951 2923 Hydraulic hole cylinder 951 2923 Hydraulic Hole Cylinder
999 7034 Connecting rod M12X400 999 7034 Connecting Rod M12X400
999 7035 Sleeve 999 7035 Sleeve
999 7047 Drift 999 7047 Drift

Removal

Note! As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.

Preparations
Remove the wheel.

Removing the shock absorber




- Secure the control arms down. Use retaining straps
- Remove the screws for the shock absorber mounting
- Pull the shock absorber from its mounting
- Release the retaining strap.

Warning! There is a risk of compression injury, do not place your hands in the area surrounding the shock absorber when releasing the retaining strap.

Disconnecting the lateral link




- Install the retaining strap and secure the lower control arm slightly against the jacking point
- Remove the lateral link screw at the spindle
- Slacken off the screw at the front mounting slightly. Turn the lateral link downwards
- Slacken off the screws for the outer mounting for the control arm 2-3 turns.

Disconnecting the tie rod




- Mark up the position on the spacer eccentric
- Remove the screw using the eccentric washer
- Twist the tie rod down
- Remove the screw for the drive shaft mounting.

Disconnecting the control arm





Remove:
- the screw for the inner control arm mounting (1)
- the screw for the upper control arm mounting (2)
- the control arm (3).
Press down the control arm.

Removing the bushing




- Install the hydraulic cylinder
- Use tool 951 2923 Hydraulic hole cylinder 951 2923 Hydraulic Hole Cylinder with 999 7054 Adapter incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 999 7054 Adapter Incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 , 999 7047 Drift 999 7047 Drift and 999 7034 Connecting rod M12X400 999 7034 Connecting Rod M12X400.

Note! The cut-out on 999 7035 Sleeve 999 7035 Sleeve must be turned towards the control stay mounting lug.

- Pull the bushing out.

Installation

Installing the bushing




- Install the hydraulic cylinder
- Use tool 951 2923 Hydraulic hole cylinder 951 2923 Hydraulic Hole Cylinder with 999 7054 Adapter incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 999 7054 Adapter Incl. 2x MC6C M6X12 , 999 7047 Drift 999 7047 Drift and 999 7034 Connecting rod M12X400 999 7034 Connecting Rod M12X400.




- Pull the bushing.

Note! 6 mm of the bushing steel sleeve must be visible when in the correct position.

- Remove the hydraulic cylinder.

Installing the control arm
Turn the control arm into position.

Install:
- the control stay
- the screw for the inner control arm mounting
- the screw and nut for the upper control stay mounting.

Note! Do not tighten the screw for the bushing mountings. This is carried out later when the rear suspension is in the normal position.

Installing tie rod

Install:
- screw
- eccentric washer
- the nut.

Installing the lateral link

Install:
- the retaining strap and secure the lower control arm slightly against the jacking point
- the lateral link screw.

Tightening the stay and mountings
Press the suspension up to its normal position, see Normal position Procedures.

Tighten:
- both the mountings for the lateral link. Tighten to 80 Nm
- the inner mounting for the tie rod. Tighten to 80 Nm

Note! Ensure that the eccentric washer is positioned in the previously marked position.

- the outer and inner control arm mounting. Tighten to 80 Nm.

Installing the shock absorber




Install the retaining strap and pull down the control arms so that the shock absorber can be installed.

Install:
- the shock absorber
- the screws. Tighten to 80 Nm.
Remove the tensioner strap.

Finishing
Install the wheel. See Installing wheels Service and Repair.
Check/adjust the wheel alignment. See: Wheel alignment, checking / adjusting Wheel Alignment, Checking/Adjusting.
