Checking components and wiring




- Ignition on
- Activate the air conditioning (A/C) relay
Check that the magnetic clutch is activated, a noise from the magnetic clutch should be clearly heard.









Was the magnetic clutch activated?

Yes - Checking component

No - Checking the wiring and the relay

Checking component
Try a new air conditioning (A/C) pressure sensor.
Check the compressor and magnetic clutch if the fault is not in the air conditioning (A/C) pressure sensor.

Checking the wiring and the relay
Check the cable between A/C relay base terminal 3 and the magnetic clutch for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault

Hint: With the ignition on and the cable connected between 1 and 3 in the A/C relay base, the magnetic clutch should be activated.

Other information:
- A/C relay base terminal 1 is supplied with power from the system relay via fuse 11B/16
- A/C relay base terminal 3 is connected to the magnetic clutch

Verification

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off.
- Reinstall connectors, components etc.
- Start the engine.
- Air conditioning (A/C) switch on
- Start the blower fan
Check that the pressure increases in the air conditioning (A/C) system when the air conditioning (A/C) compressor engages.
Also check if cold air blows into the passenger compartment when at the coolest setting.

Note! The air conditioning (A/C) pressure is given in volts for values see Component specifications Specifications.









Does the pressure in air conditioning (A/C) system change?

Yes - VERIFIED

No - VERIFICATION FAILED
