Mass movement sensor cover (MMS), replacing and adjusting the mounting
Background
A new cover for the mass movement sensor is being introduced from the chassis numbers shown below. The method in this Service Bulletin describes how the mounting can be reinforced when replacing the cover.

Removing the cover and sensor
Remove the cover for the mass movement sensor by pressing the cover to the right and prying downward at the left edge.
Remove the Mass movement sensor from the cover.

Installing the reinforcements (vehicles without a sun roof)
Remove the masking tape. Install the reinforcement as illustrated on top of the headlining.
Note! Ensure that the reinforcements are positioned along the sides of the cut-out inside the headlining. This is important as the holder for the cover engages the reinforcement strip

Installing the support blocks (vehicles without a sun roof)
Install three support blocks (A) on each side of the cut out on top of the reinforcements.
Position the support blocks in the center of the cut-out and a few mm in from the edge of the reinforcement strips.
Note! There must be room in the holder for the cover to secure the reinforcement.

Installing the reinforcements (vehicles with a sun roof)
The lower section of the illustration shows the position on vehicles equipped with a sunroof. Remove the masking tape. Install the reinforcement as illustrated on top of the headlining.
Note! Ensure that the reinforcements are positioned along the sides of the cut-out inside the headlining. This is important as the holder for the cover engages the reinforcement strips.

Installing the support blocks (vehicles with a sun roof)
Install two support blocks (A) on each side of the cut out on top of the reinforcements.
Position the support blocks in the rear section of the cut out and a few mm from the edge of the reinforcement strips.

Installing a new cover
Install the Mass movement sensor in the cover First install the cover on the right hand side so that the holder (A) secures in the reinforcement.
Press the cover first to the right and then upwards so that the holder (B) secures in the reinforcement.
Note! Illustration demonstrates non-sunroof installation.
