Components Cool Box Rear Seat, Replacing

NOTE: As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and/or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.

This section contains methods for:
- the entire cover.
- the lock on the cover.
- the blower fan motor.
- the switch.

Cover Assembly, Replacing







- Remove the cover.

Transfer the hinges and the retaining strap to the new cover.

Install:
- the cover
- the hinges
- the retaining strap.

Lock Cover, Replacing

Removing:







- Grip the lock using heavy duty pliers.
- Pull straight out in line with the cover whilst working the lock back and forth.
- Pull heavily until the lock releases.

NOTE: The lock is secured by two plastic hooks which break when the lock releases.

- Check that there are no loose plastic pieces where the old lock was positioned.

Install:







- Insert the lock in the correct position.
- Press so that the hooks engage securely.

Replacing Blower Fan Motor

Removing:







- Turn the coolbox upside down.
- Remove the 16 screws.

NOTE: Do not slacken off the screws for the fan.

- Remove the fan shroud.

NOTE: Do not damage the cable for the fan.







- Remove the switch for the fan from the printed circuit board.
- The switch is secured using hot adhesive, so it may need to be cut out.







- Remove the 4 screws for the fan.
- Lift out the fan.

Install:
- the engine coolant fan (FC)
- the 4 screws for the fan. Tighten
- the switch for the fan in the printed circuit board. Secure using hot adhesive
- the fan shroud
- the 16 screws for the fan shroud. Tighten.

Switch, Replacing

Removing:







- Remove the 16 screws.

NOTE: Do not slacken off the screws for the fan.

- Remove the fan shroud.

NOTE: Do not damage the cable for the fan.

- Detach the 2 cables from the switch.

HINT: Mark up the cables before removal.

- The switch is secured using hot adhesive.
- Cut away the adhesive using a sharp knife.
- Press out the switch.







- Heat both the cables so that they release from the switch. Use a soldering iron.

HINT: Mark up the cables before removal.

Installing the switch
- Solder both the small cables onto the switch.

Install:
- the switch. Secure the switch using hot adhesive.
- the 2 cables for the switch
- the fan shroud.
- the screws for the fan shroud.
