Checking for permanent or intermittent faults

- Ignition on.
Try to operate the sun roof to its limit positions.

Can the sun roof be operated?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Checking for a short-circuit

-------------------------------------------------

Checking for a short-circuit
Check the cable between the sun roof module (SRM) and the roof lamp module. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

UEM-0061 Motor sun roof. Signal too high
The sun roof module (SRM) terminal #2A and roof lamp module terminal #4B.

UEM-0062 Motor sun roof. Signal too high
The sun roof module (SRM) terminal #8A and roof lamp module terminal #3B.

UEM-0063 Motor sun roof. Signal too high
The sun roof module (SRM) terminal #3A and roof lamp module terminal #2B.

UEM-0064 Motor sun roof. Signal too high
The sun roof module (SRM) terminal #7A and roof lamp module terminal #1B.
Remedy as necessary.

Was a fault detected?

Yes - Verification

No - Checking the cable

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the cable
Check the wiring between the sun roof switch and the roof lamp module. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.

Other information:
- For further information about signals and other values, see Signal specification Signal Specification, Upper Electronic Module (UEM)

Intermittent fault
Check the connector on the sun roof module (SRM) and the connector on the roof lamp module. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check for loose connections.
Visually check the cable between the sun roof module (SRM) and the roof lamp module. Check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for an intermittent open-circuit.

UEM-0061 Motor sun roof. Signal too high
The sun roof module (SRM) terminal #2A and roof lamp module terminal #4B.

UEM-0062 Motor sun roof. Signal too high
The sun roof module (SRM) terminal #8A and roof lamp module terminal #3B.

UEM-0063 Motor sun roof. Signal too high
The sun roof module (SRM) terminal #3A and roof lamp module terminal #2B.

UEM-0064 Motor sun roof. Signal too high
The sun roof module (SRM) terminal #7A and roof lamp module terminal #1B.
Check the wiring between the sun roof switch and the roof lamp module (RCM). Check for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage.
Visually check the roof lamp module and its switches.

Hint: If no fault is found replace the sun roof switch.

Fault-tracing information

Information

Fault-tracing information
The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.

Do you want to exit fault-tracing?

Yes - FAULT-TRACING FAILED

No - Attempt New Test

Information

Fault-tracing information
If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
It is possible to view the information again, or leave fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
