Signal Too Low. Intermittent Fault
Signal too low. Intermittent fault
Checking the cables and components
Hint: The phone module is connected to the GPS antenna via a connector on the right A-pillar.
- Ignition off.
Check the antenna cable between the phone module (PHM) connector G (grey) and connector E (connector 1) on the right A-pillar for a short circuit to ground as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults. Test connector G between:
If no fault is found on the antenna cable, test again after replacing antenna.
- A (antenna signal) and B (mudguard ground)
- A (antenna signal) and body ground
Check GPS-antenna cable and phone module (PHM) connectors for a loose contact, as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Do the necessary corrective action.
Additional information:
- In terms of DC voltage, the GPS antenna has a fixed internal resistance of approximately 60 (.
- Using an ohmmeter, the resistance between the signal wire and mudguard or body ground antenna cable, between the phone module and the right A-pillar connector should be infinite.

If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
It is possible to view the information again, or leave fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).
