Condition
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) PHM-0012 is stored if the carphone module registers that there is a short-circuit to ground in the power supply to the handset.

Substitute value
- Only hands-free operates.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the wiring (power supply) to the handset from the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- The handset does not function
- Message in the text display (for carphones with Volvo On Call).
