Condition
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) PHM-000A is stored if the carphone module registers that there is a short-circuit to ground in the signal to the hands-free microphone.

Substitute value
- Only the handset functions.

Possible source
- There is a short-circuit to ground in the wiring (MIC signal) between the hands-free microphone and the control module.

Fault symptom[s]
- Hands-free mode does not function
- Message in the text display (for carphones with Volvo On Call).
